acquired a new recaro for my son to match my daughter's, he was giggly excited when he saw it
but hopefully not for long, looking at acquiring some generation specific black with red stitching recaros

Of course they do. They still have a chance to contribute something meaningful to humanity.
As for you...well...how's your weather?

I know recaro make all sorts of seats, but I'm pretty sure these aren't made in their factory, just officially branded.
Simpson Racing baby seats? awesome

There. I feel much better now. I was very confused for a time. Not sure how your picture got flipped; must be a Kinja bug.

You know, we looked at the Recaro's and...for the money...they didn't seem as nice as I was hoping for. We went Italian
Genuine leatherette (or even real alcantara for Dr. Moneybags) we got a great deal on a discontinued color and it was much less than the recaro. Its been solid. People seem to like the recaro's too, they are nice seats no question.

I was given the pink one from a friend when her daughter outgrew it, and the blue one I got discounted, but you're right, for the brand they are, they don't have a high a rating as other boosters and car seats.
The wife's car, where the kids spend significantly more time, have far higher rated Britaxes

Seriously, though, I've been driving a manual for over 30 years, and I just can't imagine doing it with opposite hands. Of course, they say that if you use your other hand it feels like somebody else. So there is that.

I learned to drive in the US, but never drove a manual, a year later I got my license in Australia so I drove manual first there. Now living in the US I still reach to the wrong side occasionally. I truly prefer shifting (and yanking the e-brake) with my left, and steering with my right. As right hander it seems to just make more sense to have the priority task of steering done with my dominant hand.
Funny enough, I came back to the US and jumped in a manual without thinking, and then stared at the pedals and shifter and got concerned that the pedals and H-pattern would be all reversed. Some logical thinking through how cars worked satisfied me, but initially there was panic

I used to wonder if the shift pattern was mirrored also.
Funny you mention being right-handed. I'm left-handed, so maybe that's why it feels so natural.
